This tour is available from April to September, the ideal season to experience Albania’s mountains at their best. During these months, trails are fully accessible, alpine landscapes are at their most vibrant, and weather conditions are optimal for hiking and outdoor exploration.
We highly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred travel dates and ensure the best possible experience, as availability may be limited during peak season.

    • Booking as a full group of 16 people qualifies you for a 10% discount.

    • When booking a group of 16 guests, the tour leader travels free of charge.

    • Booking as a family/friends qualifies you for a 15% discount.

  • Custom Itineraries: The itinerary can be modified to include specific attractions or experiences according to your interests.
  • Booking Confirmation: Your reservation is confirmed only after payment is received. A deposit may be required to secure your booking.
  • Early Booking Recommended: Availability is limited, especially during peak seasons. We strongly advise booking in advance to guarantee your preferred dates.
  • Multiple Languages Available: Tours can be conducted in various languages upon request. Please inform us of your language preference when booking.
  • Luggage: Large suitcases are not recommended due to mountain transportation limitations. Please bring a backpack (30–40L) and pack light.
  • Required Gear: Proper hiking shoes, lightweight clothing, waterproof jacket, sun protection, reusable water bottle (1.5–2L), and personal medications.
  • Fitness Level: Tours involve 4–8 hours of hiking on uneven terrain with elevation gain. Moderate physical fitness is required.
  • Safety: Always follow the guide’s instructions. Phone signal may be limited in remote areas.
  • Travel Insurance & Requirements: Travel insurance is not included but highly recommended. Participants should verify visa and entry requirements prior to booking.
  • Responsible Travel: Respect nature, local communities, and follow Leave No Trace principles.
  • Included services: A professional guide, transportation, and all admission fees are covered in the price.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to departure: full refund minus a 5% administrative fee.
  • Cancellations made between 30–44 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be charged.
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to departure: no refund.
  • No refund will be provided for unused services or voluntary withdrawal during the tour.
  • Any changes made less than 7 days before the experience start date may not be accepted.
  • Certain tours require a minimum number of participants. If this minimum is not met, clients will be offered an alternative date/experience or a full refund.
  • If an experience is canceled due to unsafe weather conditions, clients will be offered an alternative date or an appropriate refund.

What To Expect

Day 1 – Arrival in Tirana & City Discovery

Please note: The activities planned for this day will take place depending on your arrival time at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, you will have more time to explore the city. For later arrivals, the program will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Arrival at Tirana International Airport
    Welcome to Albania! Upon arrival at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza, you will be greeted by our company representative in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Tirana.
  • Hotel check-in & time to rest
    Upon arrival at the hotel, check in and take some time to relax after your journey. This free time allows you to settle in, refresh, and prepare for the first experiences of the tour.
  • Afternoon: Tirana city introduction
    Later in the afternoon, meet your guide and fellow travelers to begin an easy introductory exploration of Albania’s vibrant capital, Tirana. This relaxed walk offers a first glimpse into the city’s fascinating mix of history, culture, and colorful architecture.
  • During the visit you will discover some of Tirana’s most iconic landmarks:
    Skanderbeg Square – the heart of the city, surrounded by important cultural institutions and named after Albania’s national hero.
    Et’hem Bey Mosque – a beautiful 18th-century mosque famous for its detailed frescoes and historical importance.
    Tirana Pyramid – one of the most recognizable monuments in the city, representing an interesting chapter of Albania’s modern history.
  • Evening: Welcome dinner with the group
    In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner together with the rest of the group at a traditional local restaurant. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and begin the journey together while tasting some of Albania’s most delicious traditional dishes.
  • You will have the chance to try a variety of Albanian specialties, prepared with fresh local ingredients, while your guide introduces the exciting experiences planned for the upcoming days.

Day 2 – Dajti Mountain Adventure

  • Breakfast at the hotel
    Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and prepare for a day surrounded by nature.
  • Departure to Dajti Mountain
    After breakfast, transfer to the base station of Dajti Mountain, located within Dajti National Park.
  • Panoramic cable car experience
    Board the panoramic cable car for a scenic ascent above forests and rolling hills, offering breathtaking aerial views over Tirana and central Albania.
  • Guided mountain hike
    Begin an easy-to-moderate hike through pine forests and open meadows. The trails provide panoramic viewpoints and a gentle introduction to Albania’s diverse mountain terrain.
  • Traditional picnic in nature (Optional)
    Enjoy a picnic featuring local cheeses, olives, fresh bread, and seasonal specialties in a peaceful alpine setting.
  • Return by cable car and transfer back to Tirana in the afternoon. Free afternoon.

Day 3 – Krujë & Sari Saltik | Overnight in Peshkopi

  • Departure for Krujë
    Travel to Kruje, dramatically positioned on the slopes of Mount Krujë and known as the stronghold of Albania’s national hero, Skanderbeg.
  • Krujë Castle & Old Bazaar
    Explore the historic castle complex and Skanderbeg Museum, learning about Albania’s medieval resistance. Stroll through the cobbled Old Bazaar, lined with traditional handicrafts and artisan workshops.
  • Hike to Sari Saltik Sacred Site
    Continue with a short but scenic hike to the Sari Saltik cave shrine, a revered spiritual site for multiple faiths. From this elevated viewpoint, enjoy sweeping views across the Adriatic plains.
  • Continue to Peshkopi
    Drive through picturesque northeastern landscapes toward Peshkopi, a peaceful spa town known for its thermal waters and mountain scenery.

Day 4 – Mount Korab Challenge | Overnight in Peshkopi

    Depart toward Mount Korab, the highest peak in Albania (2,764 m), located along the border with North Macedonia.
  • Summit hike
    Begin your moderate-to-challenging ascent through alpine meadows, rocky terrain, and dramatic ridgelines. The hike offers expansive views stretching across multiple countries.
  • Picnic lunch on the trail
    Enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by raw alpine beauty.
  • Descent & return to Peshkopi
    After reaching your highest point, descend carefully and transfer back to Peshkopi for relaxation.

Day 5 – Maja e Gjallicës | Overnight in Kukës

  • Departure toward Kukës Region
    Travel deeper into northeastern Albania.
  • Hike to Maja e Gjallicës (Off-Road Activity)
    Ascend Maja e Gjallices, one of the most prominent peaks in the region. The trail offers wild alpine landscapes, open ridgelines, and impressive summit views overlooking valleys and lakes.
  • Summit views & photography stop
    Pause at the summit for panoramic photos and a well-earned rest.
  • Arrival in Kukës & hotel check-in
    Continue to Kukes. Check in at your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 6 – Koman Lake & Shala River Escape

  • Transfer to Koman Lake ferry terminal
    Depart toward Komani Lake, one of Albania’s most spectacular natural wonders.
  • Scenic boat ride
    Sail through dramatic fjord-like gorges framed by towering cliffs and emerald waters.
  • Arrival at Shala River
    Reach the pristine Shala River, often called the “Thailand of Albania.”
  • Light hiking & swimming
    Enjoy gentle riverside walks, swimming in crystal-clear waters, or relaxing in this remote natural paradise.

Day 7 – Valbona Valley & The Lake of Xhemes

  • Breakfast at the guesthouse in Shala River
  • Boat Transfer back to Koman
    After breakfast, we prepare for departure and walk to the small pier where we board a boat that will take us back through the breathtaking canyon landscape toward Koman Lake.
    This scenic boat ride offers another opportunity to admire the dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and remote mountain scenery that make this area one of the most spectacular natural landscapes in Albania.
  • Ferry journey from Koman to Fierza
    Upon arrival at the Koman Ferry Terminal, we board the ferry and continue the journey across the lake toward Fierza.
    The ferry ride is considered one of the most beautiful lake journeys in the Balkans, passing through narrow gorges and surrounded by towering mountains of the Albanian Alps.
  • Transfer to Valbona Village
    After arriving in Fierza, we continue the journey by local transport toward Valbona National Park. The scenic drive takes us through traditional alpine villages and along beautiful mountain landscapes until we reach Valbona village.
  • Guesthouse check-in & short rest
    Upon arrival in Valbona, we check in at our guesthouse and take some time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the valley.
  • Hike to the “Lake of Xhemes”
    After taking a short rest, we begin a pleasant hike toward Liqeni i Xhemes, also known as the “Lake of Xhemes.”
    Starting from our accomodation, the hike typically takes
    around 1–1.5 hours each way, following a scenic trail along the valley with impressive views of the surrounding alpine peaks and forests.
  • Overnight in Valbona
    Return to the guesthouse in the late afternoon. Enjoy a relaxing evening in the mountains.

Day 8 – Valbona to Theth Crossing

  • Breakfast at the guesthouse in Valbona
  • Transfer to the trailhead
    A short local private transfer will take you from the guesthouse to the starting point of the famous Valbona–Theth Trail.
    Your larger luggage will be transported separately by mules, which carry the bags from Valbona to Theth. For the hike itself, we recommend carrying only a small backpack with essential items.
  • The Valbona – Theth Hike
    The hike from Valbona to Theth is considered one of the most spectacular trekking routes in the Balkans.
  • Distance: approximately 16–18 km
  • Duration: about 6–7 hours depending on pace and stops
  • Highest point: around 1,800 meters at Valbona Pass
  • The trail climbs gradually through forested paths before reaching the spectacular mountain pass connecting the two valleys. From the top, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Albanian Alps, deep valleys, rugged limestone peaks, and alpine meadows.
    Along the way you may encounter:
    -traditional shepherd huts
    -grazing livestock in alpine pastures
    -small mountain cafés serving refreshments
    -stunning viewpoints perfect for photos
  • What to bring for the hike
    To ensure a comfortable hike, we recommend bringing:
    comfortable hiking shoes or boots
    -a small backpack
    -water (at least 1–1.5 liters)
    -snacks or energy bars
    -sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
    -a light jacket or rain layer depending on weather
    Travel light, as your main luggage will be delivered directly to your accommodation in Theth.
  • Arrival in Theth & guesthouse check-in
    After descending through scenic forest trails, you will arrive in the charming mountain village of Theth, located inside Theth National Park.
  • Free afternoon to explore Theth
    The afternoon is free to explore the village and its beautiful surroundings at your own pace. You may enjoy a relaxing walk through the valley, admire the traditional stone houses, or simply enjoy the peaceful alpine atmosphere.
  • Overnight in Theth.

Day 9 – Qafa e Pejës Panorama Hike

  • Breakfast at the guesthouse
  • Guided hike to Qafa e Pejës
    After breakfast, meet your guide and begin a scenic hike toward Qafa e Pejës, one of the most impressive viewpoints in the region.
    This trail gradually ascends through forests, alpine meadows, and rocky mountain terrain, offering spectacular views throughout the journey.
    -Approximate distance: 10–12 km round trip
    -Duration: about 5–6 hours depending on pace and breaks
    -Elevation: the pass reaches around 1,700 meters above sea level
    As you hike higher into the mountains, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic, revealing sweeping panoramas of the rugged peaks of the Albanian Alps. Along the trail you may encounter shepherd huts, grazing livestock, and untouched alpine scenery that reflects the authentic mountain life of the region.
    The viewpoint at Qafa e Pejës offers breathtaking vistas stretching deep into the valleys and mountain ridges that connect Albania with Montenegro and Kosovo.
  • Return to Theth
    After spending time enjoying the views and taking photos, begin the descent back toward Theth. The return hike follows the same scenic trail, allowing you to once again enjoy the peaceful mountain pastures and pristine landscapes of the national park.
  • Optional village exploration
    Back in Theth, the afternoon is free for relaxation or for further exploration of the village.
  • Overnight in Theth

Day 10 – The Blue Eye of Theth

  • Breakfast at the guesthouse
  • Hike to Grunas Waterfall
    From the center of Theth village, we begin a pleasant hike toward Grunas Waterfall, one of the most impressive natural attractions in the valley.
    -Distance from Theth village: approximately 2 km
    Hiking time: around 35–45 minutes each way
  • The trail follows a scenic path through forests and rocky terrain before reaching the magnificent waterfall, which cascades from a height of about 30 meters into a beautiful natural setting surrounded by cliffs and greenery. There will be time to enjoy the view and take photos before continuing the journey.
  • Transfer to Nderlysaj & Visit of Natural Pools
    After returning from the waterfall, we continue with a short private transfer to the small mountain settlement of Nderlysaj, located deeper in the valley.
    Here we visit the beautiful
    natural pools of Nderlysaj, formed by crystal-clear mountain waters flowing through limestone formations. These small turquoise pools create a peaceful and refreshing natural landscape, perfect for a short stop and relaxation before the next hike.
  • Hike to the Blue Eye of Theth
    From Nderlysaj we begin the hike toward the famous Blue Eye of Theth.
    -Distance: approximately 3–3.5 km each way
    Hiking time: about 50–60 minutes each way
  • The trail follows a scenic forest path along the river, gradually leading to one of the most magical natural springs in Albania. The Blue Eye is known for its deep sapphire-colored waters, emerging from underground sources and creating a striking contrast with the surrounding rocks and forest.
    You will have time to relax, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this unique natural wonder. If the weather allows, an optional picnic near the spring can be enjoyed surrounded by nature.
  • Return to Theth & departure for Shkodër
    After the hike, we return to Theth where we prepare for the journey back toward Shkodër. The scenic drive offers one last opportunity to admire the breathtaking landscapes of the Albanian Alps.
  • Hotel Check-in in Shkodër
    Upon arrival in Shkodër, check in at the hotel and take some time to rest after the day’s activities.
  • Evening walk in the city
    In the evening, we head out for a relaxing walk along the lively pedestrian street Pedonalja Kolë Idromeno, the cultural heart of the city.
    During the walk we will explore some of the city’s main highlights, admire the charming architecture, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of one of Albania’s most historic cities.
  • Farewell Dinner
    Later, we gather together for a special farewell dinner, where we will once again enjoy delicious Albanian cuisine while remembering the wonderful experiences and unforgettable moments shared during this journey through Albania.
