What To Expect

1

Day 1: Arrival in Tirana – Welcome to Albania

Arrive at Tirana International Airport, where your guide will be waiting to greet you. From here, enjoy a smooth private transfer to your hotel in Tirana, Albania’s vibrant and rapidly evolving capital. After check-in, take some time to rest and settle in, preparing for the exciting journey ahead and choose between two unforgettable adventures:

Option 1: Pellumbas Cave & Shengjergj Waterfall

  • Start the day with a scenic drive to Pellumbas village, followed by a hike to the ancient Pellumbas Cave, one of Albania’s few explored karst caves. After your cave adventure, continue to Shengjergj to discover its picturesque waterfall nestled in lush surroundings. After a delicious lunch of traditional Albanian cuisine at a local restaurant, return to Tirana for an afternoon of urban exploration. Wander through Skanderbeg Square, visit local museums, or relax in the stylish Blloku district. Enjoy an optional dinner at a rooftop restaurant with city views before spending the night in Tirana.

Option 2: Bovilla Lake & Dajti Mountain

  • Begin with a trip to Bovilla Lake, where a hike to the top of Gamti Mountain rewards you with panoramic views over the rugged countryside. Then head to the Dajti Cable Car and ascend the mountain for even more spectacular vistas. Spend your afternoon exploring Dajti’s highland beauty, with options for horse riding, hiking, or simply relaxing. Return to Tirana in the late afternoon and enjoy an optional traditional dinner before your overnight stay.

Day 2: Karavasta Lagoon & Berat – Nature and History

  • After an early breakfast, drive towards the Karavasta Lagoon, one of the most important wetland ecosystems in Albania. Explore the lagoon’s unique biodiversity and, if you choose, enjoy a peaceful kayak ride through its tranquil waters. Spot Dalmatian pelicans and admire the unspoiled beauty of the area before heading to a local seafood restaurant for lunch.
  • In the afternoon, continue your journey to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Berat. Upon arrival, enjoy a wine tasting experience at a local winery before checking into your hotel. In the evening, take a leisurely walk through Berat Castle and the historic Mangalem and Gorica neighborhoods, where cobbled streets and stone houses whisper tales of the past. Overnight in Berat.

Day 3: Vjosa river rafting & Gjirokastra

  • Set off early from Berat and make your way to Përmet, a picturesque town on the banks of the Vjosa River. There, gear up for an exhilarating rafting experience on Europe’s last wild river, surrounded by stunning natural beauty and accompanied by professional guides.
  • After rafting, enjoy a hearty traditional lunch in Përmet and taste the town’s famous fruit preserves, known as “gliko.” In the afternoon, drive to the stone city of Gjirokastër. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing coffee break in the charming Old Bazaar before visiting the impressive Gjirokastër Castle. With sweeping views and centuries of history, the castle is a highlight of the city. Spend the evening exploring or dine in a traditional Ottoman-style home. Overnight in Gjirokastër.
