Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to departure: full refund minus a 5% administrative fee.
  • Cancellations made between 30–44 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be charged.
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to departure: no refund.
  • No refund will be provided for unused services or voluntary withdrawal during the tour.
  • Any changes made less than 7 days before the experience start date may not be accepted.
  • Certain tours require a minimum number of participants. If this minimum is not met, clients will be offered an alternative date/experience or a full refund
  • If an experience is canceled due to unsafe weather conditions, clients will be offered an alternative date or an appropriate refund.

 

What To Expect

Day 1 – Arrival in Tirana & Transfer to Shengjergj

  • Arrival at Tirana International Airport
    Meet our representative at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza and transfer toward the rural village of Shengjergj, located about one hour from the capital.
  • Depending on arrival time:
    Option A: Direct transfer to Shengjergj
    Option B: Overnight in Tirana and transfer the following morning.
  • Explore Shengjergj Village
    After arrival, discover the peaceful atmosphere of Shengjergj, a traditional village known for its natural beauty and authentic rural life.
    Highlights include:
    Shengjergj Waterfall – a beautiful natural cascade surrounded by forest, perfect for a short walk and photos
    • Discovering local village life, meeting residents and visiting small farms and animal pens
    • Tasting fresh local cuisine in family-run farms and restaurants, including traditional dishes such as byrek, homemade cheeses, and seasonal vegetables.
  • Overnight in Shengjergj (guesthouse or family-run inn).

Day 2 – Hike to Kuterman Village & Marinaj

  • Breakfast at the guesthouse
  • Hike through forests and valleys
    After a short 10-minute transfer to the trailhead, begin a scenic hike of approximately 4 hours through forests, valleys, and rural landscapes toward Gurakuq (meaning “red earth”).
  • Traditional villages and farm life
    Along the route:
    • Explore Rinas village, known for its preserved traditional architecture
    • Transfer to Marinaj village (about 30 minutes)
  • Visit Nia’s Farm, where you can:
    • Participate in simple farm activities
    • Taste fresh vegetables, fruits, and artisanal cheeses
    • Walk through the village and meet local residents
  • Traditional dinner
    In the evening enjoy a traditional Albanian dinner prepared with local ingredients.
  • Overnight in Marinaj (guesthouse).

Day 3 – Shebenik–Jabllanicë National Park

  • Breakfast at the guesthouse
  • Journey to Fushe Studem
    Transfer to Fushe Studem (about 1 hour), located inside Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park.
  • Loop hike to Maja e Gurit
    Enjoy a moderate loop hike (4–5 hours) toward the summit of Maja e Gurit.
    The trail passes through:
    • Beech and pine forests
    • Alpine meadows
    • Scenic mountain landscapes.
  • From the summit enjoy panoramic views across Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park and toward the Macedonian border.
  • You may also observe local flora and fauna, including wildflowers, birds, and small mammals.
  • Overnight in Fushe Studem (guesthouse).

Day 4 – Hike to Dorez Sheepfold

  • Breakfast at the guesthouse
  • Challenging alpine hike
    Today’s hike begins in Steblevë and ascends toward Kallkanj Summit.
    *Hiking time: 6–7 hours
    *Difficulty: challenging
  • The trail crosses:
    *Alpine meadows
    *Dense forests
    *Rocky mountain ridges with wide panoramic views.
  • Life with shepherds
    Descend into the remote landscapes of Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park, a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve.
  • In the evening arrive at Dorez Sheepfold, where you will:
    • Spend time with local shepherds
    • Learn about their daily mountain life
    • Enjoy a traditional farm-cooked dinner
  • Overnight at Dorez Sheepfold (basic accommodation, sleeping mat & bag provided).

Day 5 – Hike to Stani Urimit Sheepfold

  • Breakfast with shepherds
  • Mountain trekking
    Continue hiking through the alpine pastures of the national park.
    • Hiking time: 4–5 hours
    • Difficulty: moderate
  • During the hike you will observe grazing sheep and goats, traditional shepherd shelters, and wide views of valleys and forests.
  • Traditional cheesemaking
    Arrival at Stani Urimit Sheepfold.
  • Activities include:
    • Meeting local shepherds
    • Learning about traditional cheese production
    • Enjoying a picnic lunch prepared by the shepherds
  • Camping experience
    In the evening enjoy a unique mountain camping experience with the shepherds.

Day 6 – Hike to Skenderbej Village

    Today’s hike continues through the remote landscapes of Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park.
    • Hiking time: 3–4 hours
    • Difficulty: moderate
  • The trail offers views of forested hills, alpine ridges, and deep valleys, with opportunities to observe wildlife and native plants.
  • Homestay experience
    Arrival in Skenderbej village, where you will be hosted by a local family.
  • Activities include:
    • Traditional home-cooked Albanian dinner
    • Opportunity to participate in farm activities
    • Evening storytelling and cultural exchange with locals.
  • Overnight in Skenderbej (family homestay).

Day 7 – Lake Ohrid & Return to Tirana

  • Breakfast with the host family
  • Visit to Lin village
    Transfer to the charming lakeside village of Lin (about 50–60 minutes), located on the shores of Lake Ohrid.
