Cancellation & Return Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to departure: full refund minus a 5% administrative fee.
  • Cancellations made between 30–44 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be charged.
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to departure: no refund.
  • No refund will be provided for unused services or voluntary withdrawal during the tour.
  • Any changes made less than 7 days before the experience start date may not be accepted.
  • Certain tours require a minimum number of participants. If this minimum is not met, clients will be offered an alternative date/experience or a full refund

Day 1 – Arrival in Tirana & City Discovery

Please note: The activities planned for this day will take place depending on your arrival time at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, you will have more time to explore the city. For later arrivals, the program will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Arrival at Tirana International Airport
    Welcome to Albania! Upon arrival at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza, you will be greeted by our company representative in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Tirana.
  • Hotel check-in & time to rest
    Upon arrival at the hotel, check in and take some time to relax after your journey. This free time allows you to settle in, refresh, and prepare for the first experiences of the tour.
  • Afternoon: Tirana city introduction
    Later in the afternoon, meet your guide and fellow travelers to begin an easy introductory exploration of Albania’s vibrant capital, Tirana. This relaxed walk offers a first glimpse into the city’s fascinating mix of history, culture, and colorful architecture.
  • During the visit you will discover some of Tirana’s most iconic landmarks:
  • Skanderbeg Square – the heart of the city, surrounded by important cultural institutions and named after Albania’s national hero.
    Et’hem Bey Mosque – a beautiful 18th-century mosque famous for its detailed frescoes and historical importance.
    Tirana Pyramid – one of the most recognizable monuments in the city, representing an interesting chapter of Albania’s modern history.

    Ascend by cable car to Dajti Mountain, located within Dajti National Park. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views over Tirana and the surrounding countryside. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and take time to relax or enjoy a coffee with a view.
  • Evening: Welcome dinner with the group
    In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner together with the rest of the group at a traditional local restaurant. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and begin the journey together while tasting some of Albania’s most delicious traditional dishes.

Day 2 – Tirana – Shkodra | Gateway to the Albanian Alps

  • Morning transfer to Shkodra
    Depart Tirana and travel north toward the historic city of Shkodra, located near the border with Montenegro.
    The journey takes approximately 2–3 hours and passes through the fertile plains of northern Albania.
  • Exploring Shkodra
    Upon arrival, begin exploring one of Albania’s most historic and culturally important cities.
    Highlights include:
    • A walk through Shkodra’s historic pedestrian center, known for its colorful buildings and lively cafés
    • Traditional Ottoman-style houses that reflect the city’s rich heritage
  • Visit to Rozafa Fortress
    Continue with a visit to the impressive Rozafa Fortress, dramatically perched on a rocky hill overlooking the confluence of three rivers and Lake Shkodra.
    According to legend, the castle walls were built upon the sacrifice of Rozafa, a woman whose story symbolizes loyalty and endurance.

    Upon arrival in Theth National Park, explore the picturesque alpine village surrounded by towering peaks, green meadows, and crystal-clear rivers.

Day 4 – The Blue Eye of Theth National Park

  • Morning hike through alpine landscapes
    Today’s highlight is a scenic hike to the famous Blue Eye of Theth. The trail passes through the beautiful Kaprej Valley, offering spectacular views of alpine meadows, dense forests, and dramatic mountain peaks.
  • Visit to the Blue Eye spring
    We arrive at the Blue Eye of Theth, a stunning natural spring known for its deep blue and turquoise colors created by a powerful underground source. The water remains extremely cold throughout the year (around 7°C), though adventurous visitors sometimes attempt a quick swim.
  • Return to Theth
    After spending time enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings, we hike back toward Theth through the scenic Shala Valley, once again taking in the impressive mountain landscapes.
  • Evening at leisure
    In the evening, relax at the guesthouse and enjoy the warm atmosphere of traditional mountain hospitality, often accompanied by homemade local dishes and a glass of traditional raki.

Day 5 – Theth – Valbona Pass Trek

    The day begins with breakfast at the guesthouse in Theth, preparing for one of the most memorable hiking experiences in the Albanian Alps.
  • One of the Balkans’ most spectacular hikes
    After breakfast at the guesthouse, begin the famous Valbona Pass hike, a legendary trekking route connecting the valleys of Theth and Valbona. The hike takes approximately 6 hours and offers breathtaking scenery throughout the journey.
  • The trail leads through alpine forests, flower-filled meadows, and traditional shepherd areas, with stunning views of the dramatic peaks of the Albanian Alps. The highest point of the hike is Valbona Pass (1,795 m), where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
  • Tip: Wear comfortable hiking shoes, bring water, snacks, and sun protection, and carry a light jacket as mountain weather can change quickly. Your main luggage will be transported separately by mule, allowing you to hike comfortably with only a small backpack.
  • Arrival in Valbona Valley
    After descending from the pass, we arrive in the beautiful Valbona Valley, known for its pristine nature and peaceful mountain landscapes.
    Accommodation will be in a traditional mountain guesthouse, offering a warm and authentic alpine experience.

Day 6 – Valbona Valley Exploration

  • Morning hike in Valbona National Park
    Today offers the opportunity to explore the magnificent alpine landscapes surrounding Valbona Valley, with scenic trails leading through forests, mountain pastures, and panoramic viewpoints.
  •  Hike to Rama’s Sheepfold
    We hike toward Rama’s Sheepfold, located at approximately 1,800 meters altitude. Along the way, enjoy impressive views of the surrounding mountains and alpine meadows. At the sheepfold, local shepherds sometimes welcome visitors with fresh dairy products, mountain tea, or traditional raki, offering a glimpse into authentic mountain life.
  •  Optional hike to Rosi Peak
    For more adventurous hikers, there is the optional continuation toward Rosi Peak (2,524 m). From the higher viewpoints, extraordinary 360-degree panoramas reveal the dramatic peaks and valleys of the Albanian Alps.

Day 7 - Scenic Ferry on Lake Koman and Krujë Visit

    At Fierza, board the famous Lake Koman ferry for one of the most spectacular boat journeys in the Balkans. The ferry ride lasts approximately three hours, passing through dramatic landscapes often compared to Scandinavian fjords, where towering mountains rise steeply from the emerald waters.
  • Arrival in Krujë
    After disembarking, continue by road toward the historic town of Krujë, known as the stronghold of Albania’s national hero Skanderbeg.

Day 11 – Journey from Përmet to the Stone City of Gjirokastër
