  • Physical Requirements: Moderate physical fitness is recommended. Some days include walking tours, light hiking, and outdoor activities on uneven terrain.
  • Boat Excursions: All boat trips are operated by licensed providers and follow safety regulations. Safety equipment is available on board, and activities are conducted under professional supervision.
  • Travel Insurance & Requirements: Travel insurance is not included but highly recommended. Participants should verify visa and entry requirements prior to booking.
  • Included services: A professional guide, transportation, and all admission fees are covered in the price.

 


Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to departure: full refund minus a 5% administrative fee.
  • Cancellations made between 30–44 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be charged.
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to departure: no refund.
  • No refund will be provided for unused services or voluntary withdrawal during the tour.
  • Any changes made less than 7 days before the experience start date may not be accepted.
  • Certain tours require a minimum number of participants. If this minimum is not met, clients will be offered an alternative date/experience or a full refund
  • If an experience is canceled due to unsafe weather conditions, clients will be offered an alternative date or an appropriate refund.

What To Expect

Day 1 – Arrival in Tirana & City Discovery

Please note: The activities planned for this day will take place depending on your arrival time at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, you will have more time to explore the city. For later arrivals, the program will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Arrival at Tirana International Airport
    Welcome to Albania! Upon arrival at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza, you will be greeted by our company representative in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Tirana.
  • Hotel check-in & time to rest
    Upon arrival at the hotel, check in and take some time to relax after your journey. This free time allows you to settle in, refresh, and prepare for the first experiences of the tour.
  • Afternoon: Tirana city introduction
    Later in the afternoon, meet your guide and fellow travelers to begin an easy introductory exploration of Albania’s vibrant capital, Tirana. This relaxed walk offers a first glimpse into the city’s fascinating mix of history, culture, and colorful architecture.
  • During the visit you will discover some of Tirana’s most iconic landmarks:
    Skanderbeg Square – the heart of the city, surrounded by important cultural institutions and named after Albania’s national hero.
    Et’hem Bey Mosque – a beautiful 18th-century mosque famous for its detailed frescoes and historical importance.
    Tirana Pyramid – one of the most recognizable monuments in the city, representing an interesting chapter of Albania’s modern history.
  • (Optional) – Cable car ride to Dajti Mountain
    Ascend by cable car to Dajti Mountain, located within Dajti National Park. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views over Tirana and the surrounding countryside. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and take time to relax or enjoy a coffee with a view.
  • Evening: Welcome dinner with the group
    In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner together with the rest of the group at a traditional local restaurant. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and begin the journey together while tasting some of Albania’s most delicious traditional dishes.
  • You will have the chance to try a variety of Albanian specialties, prepared with fresh local ingredients, while your guide introduces the exciting experiences planned for the upcoming days.

Day 2 - Exploring Berat, the City of a Thousand Windows

  • Departure for Berat
    Begin your journey northward toward the historic city of Shkodra. Enjoy scenic views of the Albanian countryside as your guide provides insights into the region’s culture, history, and traditions.
  • After a satisfying breakfast, we will continue our journey and travel to Berat, located approximately 2 hours south of Tirana.This charming city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture and stunning river views. Often referred to as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” Berat’s iconic white houses climb up the hillsides, giving it a unique and picturesque appearance.
  • Hotel check-in: Proceed with check-in at your selected hotel. Take approximately one hour to refresh, relax, and prepare for the afternoon activities.
  • Visit Berat Castle: After taking some timeto rest at the hotel, we’ll visit the Berat Castle, which dominates the city from a hilltop. This ancient fortress dates back to the 4th century BC, and from its walls, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the city, the Osum River, and the surrounding countryside. Inside the castle, you’ll explore several ancient Byzantine churches, Ottoman mosques, and even old residential buildings, all offering a glimpse into the city’s diverse cultural and religious history. The castle has been a stronghold throughout Albania’s history, and its walls are lined with fascinating stories.
  • Stroll Through the Mangalem and Gorica Quarters: After visiting the castle, we’ll head down to the Mangalem and Gorica quarters, two of the oldest neighborhoods in Berat. These areas are known for their traditional Ottoman houses with characteristic white facades and distinctive windows, which give Berat its famous nickname. Walk along the cobblestone streets, soaking in the charming atmosphere of these ancient districts, and marvel at the architecture, which perfectly captures the essence of Berat’s historical legacy.
  • Overnight in Berat: Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the tranquil beauty of this UNESCO-listed city, before resting for the night in preparation for another exciting day ahead.

Day 3 - Osumi canyons and Gjirokastër exploration

  • Departure to Osumi Canyons: Start your day with a scenic journey to the Osumi Canyons, one of Albania’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders. Stretching over 26 km, these dramatic canyons are surrounded by towering cliffs, lush vegetation, and cascading waterfalls, creating a stunning landscape that’s perfect for adventure and exploration.
  •  Activities at Osumi Canyons: Once at the canyons, immerse yourself in the breathtaking surroundings. You’ll have the opportunity to swim in the crystal-clear pools, explore hidden caves, and marvel at the unique rock formations that nature has sculpted over thousands of years. For the more adventurous, optional river trekking or canyoning activities are available, allowing you to experience the canyons from a more thrilling perspective.
  •  Lunch by the Canyon: Enjoy a relaxing picnic-style lunch by the edge of the canyon, or choose to dine at a nearby traditional restaurant. The peaceful setting makes for the perfect break, where you can savor authentic Albanian flavors amidst the natural beauty of the area.
  •  Afternoon transfer to Gjirokastër: After lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Gjirokastër, the “Stone City,” which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Gjirokastër’s unique Ottoman architecture and cobbled streets provide a fascinating glimpse into Albania’s past.
  •  Visit Gjirokastër Castle: Upon arrival, we’ll visit the Gjirokastër Castle, perched high above the city. The castle offers panoramic views of the Drino Valley and houses the National Arms Museum, where you’ll discover the history of weaponry in Albania. Walking around the castle grounds, you’ll also get to explore the ancient fortifications that have stood the test of time.
  •  Explore the Ethnographic Museum: Next, we’ll head to the Ethnographic Museum, which is housed in the former home of Enver Hoxha, Albania’s former dictator. The museum offers an intriguing look into traditional Albanian culture and customs, providing insight into the daily lives of people from the region.
  •  Stroll Through the Old Bazaar: Finish the afternoon by wandering through the Old Bazaar of Gjirokastër. This charming market area is filled with shops selling handcrafted goods such as textiles, silver jewelry, and woodwork. It’s the perfect place to pick up a unique souvenir or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the city.
  •  Overnight in Gjirokastër: After a full day of exploration, we’ll check in to our hotel in Gjirokastër. Enjoy a relaxing evening at your leisure, soaking in the ambiance of this historic city before resting for the night.

Day 4 - Vjosa river adventure & Benja thermal baths

  • Midday relaxation at Benja Thermal Baths – Hotova-Dangëlli National Park
    After the excitement of rafting, continue your journey toward the Benja Thermal Baths, located within Hotova-Dangëlli National Park. These natural sulfur-rich pools are celebrated for their therapeutic properties and provide the perfect setting to unwind after your morning adventure. Day 5 - From Gjirokastër to Saranda, Blue Eye, and Butrint National Park

Day 8 - From Tirana to Theth National Park

  • Departure for Theth National Park
  • Qafë Thore Pass Stop (10–15 minutes)
    Make a brief stop at Qafë Thore Pass (1,700 m), one of the most famous viewpoints in the Albanian Alps. Capture stunning panoramic photos of rugged mountain peaks and deep valleys before continuing the journey.
  • Arrival in Theth & transfer to Nderlysaj
    Arrive in the picturesque village of Theth, renowned for its pristine nature, traditional stone houses, and dramatic mountainous scenery. Continue by vehicle to the village of Nderlysaj, the starting point of your hike.
  • Guided hike to the Blue Eye of Theth (3.5 km – approx. 1.5 hour)
    Begin a guided moderate-level hike towards the Blue Eye of Theth, a natural turquoise pool fed by underground springs. The trail offers breathtaking views of forests, rock formations, and crystal-clear streams—ideal for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.
  • Free time at the Blue Eye (30 mins)
    Enjoy time at leisure upon arrival at the Blue Eye. Take photographs, relax by the water, or, for the adventurous, enjoy a refreshing (and very cold) dip—especially chilly in October.
  • Return hike to Nderlysaj (1.5 hour)
    Hike back to Nderlysaj following the same scenic route.

  • Cultural visits: Theth Church & Lock-in Tower
    Continue with visits to two of Theth’s most significant cultural landmarks:
